Unleashing Your Potential: Harnessing the Power of Planners and Journaling

Image
My 2023 self-care planner and my new favorite set of pens. In this post, we'll explore the world of planners, journaling, and organization. I typically have three or more different planners going at once at all times, and I have a serious pen set-buying problem. I like to keep one planner specifically as a self-care and mindfulness planner, one for all of my work, appointment, and budget-related matters, and one for meal and fitness tracking. In the spring and summer I often keep a separate gardening planner as well. I used to be super into bullet journaling, and it's something I want to get back into soon. I. Love. Planners. It just makes it so much easier to keep track of everything in my life, and all of my colorful pens make tracking goals and my daily life so much more pretty and fun! So get ready to join me and unlock your full potential and embark on a path of productivity, self-discovery, and goal attainment. My background and experience as a high school librarian and...

Mental Health Matters: A School Librarian's Resource Guide to Supporting Teenagers

Image
Being a high school librarian means much more than simply managing the school's library. It also means being a source of support and a safe space for students, especially when it comes to mental health. Librarians like myself are often in a unique position to get to know and observe all students in the building and pick up on signs of mental distress. As such, we can play an important role in identifying students who may be struggling and connecting them with appropriate resources. High school librarians can also make a difference by providing students with books and other resources related to mental health, as well as by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable discussing their concerns. By taking steps to support students' mental health, high school librarians can help promote a positive and healthy school environment for everyone. One way to support mental health is by seeking out additional resources. There are many online resources and...

The Power of Speculative Fiction and Dystopian Novels: Why They Matter More Than Ever

Are you a fan of dystopian novels? Whether you're a longtime reader of the genre or a newcomer, in this post, I want to share with you why I believe reading dystopian novels is so important in today's world. Dystopian novels are often set in the future, but can also be set in a...
